In November when we started our six month program I was 50
years old, depressed, and in conflict with almost everyone and everything,

“Before working with
Amanda, I was unhappy, overweight, and consumed by negative thoughts, regrets,

Nutrition program is totally awesome. She really listened to me and understood
a lot of the challenges that a 15-year-old entering high school faces. It wasn't all about food and
nutrition either.
A lot of our time together was spent talking about self-
acceptance, loving myself for the unique person that I am and adopting
techniques to accentuate the positive. One important thing I learned was that if you believe in
yourself and have a positive outlook for what you can accomplish, the sky is

As far as food goes, one of the big things I found out was
that dairy was causing me to have a lot of stomach problems. Shortly after I

practically given up soda, eat a lot less sugar and fat and have added more

My family has also benefited because we now plan our grocery

gratitude to you are strengthened each day. Amanda, as you can remember, I came
to you last year with the desire to prevent the progression of my degenerative
disc disorder and progressing arthritis. I was also at that time, feeling a slow
down in my metabolism being in my early 30's.
Although I have never actually involved myself in your
entire program, I must tell you that your influence alone was just as
important. After we had met one on one in the yoga studio that day, I have made
major changes to my diet along with my level of exercise. I now love running,

“I’m sad our sessions are ending. It
was so nice to be brought back “down to earth” regarding the food topic. There
are so many opinions available to us, but we forget that our ancestors have
been eating pure, unaltered food for years and some live more than 100 years. Thank you for helping me to step
back and look at what my nutrition has consisted of. Additionally, your focus
on our mental attitudes has helped me to realize that “you are what you think.”
The more positive I am, the better I feel physically, emotionally and
spiritually feel. What’s even better, is that goodness surrounds us by
not only helping us, but other people too.
Prior to working with you, I stressed about what I ate –
categorized it as “good” and “bad.” I stressed about health issues and how I
would completely cure myself through eating alone. I forgot how important the
“mind” was in this whole process. We can eat all the pure, organic foods our
digestive systems can handle and exercise two hours a day, but if we still have
a stressful mind, we can’t be healthy.
Amanda, you’ve encouraged me to start the process of
removing clutter and unwanted, unnecessary things from my life. Although, I
felt that my overall self-care (food and exercise) has been good for many
years, I’ve let so many things accumulate – both in my home and in myself. It’s
time to get rid of it all. You have shown me how to do that. I love using
positive affirmations to get me through a difficult time. It helps me to
breathe and relax – I guess it’s my mental yoga. My yoga classes have also
benefited from my sessions with you. My postures are better and my focus has
improved, although I have a long way to go yet and I am looking forward to that
challenge. I’m becoming more organized. I use to become overwhelmed when I

“My name is Erin Smith and I have
been working with Amanda Moxley for the past four months. I have made grandiose
changes in my life since our very first session. I have greatly improved my

realize and then speak honestly about how much protein I was taking in on a
daily basis as a form of maintaining my weight. This was the aftermath of a

“Amanda, I wanted to express my
appreciation for the efforts you have made on my behalf regarding living a more
healthy life. As you know, I had a heart valve repair about 20 months ago and
although I have no coronary heart disease, the weakened valve can cause long
term health issues unless I take steps to monitor my health.
Over the past year that we have worked together, I have seen
significant improvement in the following areas:
Exercise: Because I have always exercised, and because I
have been attending regular yoga classes before we met, our discussions
regarding exercise, stretching and yoga have been mainly to reinforce previous
goals. However, the exercise coupled with the diet has been more beneficial
than the yoga and exercise was prior to the time we met. As we have developed a
more comprehensive weight management/health approach to life, the exercise has
played a more vital role in the whole process. Also, the combination of aerobic
training, resistance training and yoga (stretching) has achieved a better
balance since we have worked together and discussed the concepts in more
detail.
Diet: The discussions we have had regarding diet have been
significant. The types of foods especially the organic foods, the greater
variety of vegetables, juicing (I have organic vegetables at Wild Oats 4 – 5
times / week), whole grains, etc have been very beneficial to me. I have
completely eliminated soft drinks from my diet. I think it is also worth noting
that you and I have been able to discuss alternatives such as reduced dairy,
various breakfast menus, portion controls etc. until we came up with a formula
that best suited my lifestyle. Anyone can read a book on diet, but it is the
personal approach and trying to tailor a program that fits my lifestyle that I
found to be worthwhile.
Relaxation: The relaxation concepts that we worked with are
taking time to incorporate into my lifestyle because my high tension lifestyle
has been with me for many years. However, the changes are really starting to
ingrain themselves into a new more relaxed lifestyle. I am sleeping better, do
not get as upset as often over typical business issues, and I am generally
developing a more relaxed attitude towards life.
There are of course other items that have contributed to the
overall fitness and wellness goals, but these are the basics that we have
worked with. I have found
that although I have generally been healthy throughout my life, I have more
energy, less cravings for foods that are not healthy (i.e. sugar and some
carbohydrates) and I am more relaxed. I have cut down on over the counter pain
medications and generally have taken a holistic approach in my entire life.

dysfunctional relationship with food. I learned that I used food for other
things that were missing in my life, such as a lack of loving myself and my
work-life was not balanced. Working with Amanda brought these issues to the
