Do you consistently sabotage your health goals and dreams?

Many of us have big health goals, dreams and ideals. We want to be healthy, we want to lose weight, we want to be thin, strong, confident and beautiful. Perhaps on your food and body journey, you've been on a diet roller coaster.  Maybe you've tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, the Zone, Atkins or HGB (the new diet where you eat 500 calories a day and inject pregnant horse urine into your hip). I've heard it all before and truthfully, I've walked a similar path in my food and body journey. Then a social weekend comes, or a wedding, vacation or any unforseen life event and you get thrown off of your "program". Since you've been "so good", strict and committed to your program you can go two ways. You can go off the deep end and dive deep into overeating, binge eating and "being bad" or you can get right back on the horse and resume your routine. Earlier in my food and body journey, I suffered from the social weekend sabotage almost every week. I would "be good" all week and then during the weekend I suffered profusely (all my own doing). I lacked the internal confidence and self love to trust that my body's infinite wisdom could guide me. Instead I believed that I needed a plan, a program or a diet in order to be successful, healthy, thin, strong and radiant. This diet mentality, I believe, does not set you up for sustainable change because you are relying on a program, something outside of yourself, rather than doing the inner work to create life lasting change. Many of my clients come to me because they know that I offer life lasting, sustainable change and transformation of body, mind and Soul. They are super excited as well as scared when they say 'Yes!' Then the week before we begin they often freak out, start overeating and adopting "the last super" mentality: "this is going to be my last ice cream cone, or last cookie, before I start this new program." I did the same thing back when I set off to become a yoga teacher in 2002. I knew that I was inevitably going to go through a whole body, mind and Soul transformation. My heart wanted it more than anything but my ego (monkey mind) was freaking out! It wanted to keep me "secure, comfortable and the same." I remember tearing through an entire box of Pria bars on my drive to L.A. I was so afraid of my Light that I tried to stuff it down with food and over eating. Too bad, the Light won! Have you ever done that? In your heart you desired something so profoundly but your mind/ego fought you to the pulp? In today's article, I want to give you some of my secrets for creating life lasting change and ending the last super mentality. 1) Let yourself eat WHATEVER you want! What? You may be thinking? Well believe me, once you give yourself permission to eat whatever you want you will feel a huge weight being lifted off your shoulders. 2) Focus on the WHY you want to transform and change your body and your relationship to food rather than on the HOW you are going to do it. A lot of us get stuck here, we get caught up worrying about how we are going to lose weight and gain total body confidence. Journal about all of the reasons WHY you want this and what it will do for you. Don't get caught up in the HOW. Focus on the WHY! 3) Spend time outside in Nature. Get out of your head and into your heart by connecting to beautiful Nature. Breathe and receive all the gifts that are yours in Nature. I hope these tips help you to realize that you truly are on a food and body journey. Like any journey/adventure there are highs and lows. Love it all and keep your eyes on the prize! Hi from LA! New Video from Amanda

Hi Everybody,

I'm back from my 1 day retreat with my coach in LA! It was a whirlwind of a day because I flew round trip all in a 16 hour period. The things we do!

Karen and I met at a beautiful hotel on the beach overlooking the gorgeous Pacific. We planned out my entire business plan for the next year- so look out for some really huge changes coming your way. I've already started working on two new e-books since I've been home!

 

I'm so excited and I'm sure you can sense that in the video! I was ecstatic! Karen and I ate at Juliano's Raw restaurant and it was delicious! Traveling and lack of sleep is easy to manage when you're eating super light life force foods.
