Are You Getting Enough Sleep?
Hello There,
I'm just writing to ask if you are getting enough sleep these last few hot days of summer. Sleep is so good for you! The more rested you feel the less sugar and caffeine you crave.
Each of us require different amounts of sleep. Try slowing down a little bit and listening to your body. If you feel tired take a 20 minute power nap to rejuvenate you to your best self!
If you are familiar with yoga asanas (poses) then try child's pose or in Bikram Yoga we call it half tortoise pose to rest your central nervous system and to regulate sleep and wake cycles. Remember to breathe deeply and completely when you are in any yoga pose.
I do half tortoise pose in the afternoon when I feel the 3 o'clock slump rather than getting jacked up on sugar or caffeine. Give it a try the next time your energy dips, you'll be surprised how well your body responds to the love and self care.
