Super Charging Smoothie Recipe

This delicious smoothie recipe is guaranteed to wake you up in the morning or give you a mid-afternoon re-charge! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 banana
1 handful of sesame seeds
1 handful of pumpkin seeds
2 tbs. of almond butter
2 scoops of your favorite green powder (spirilina, blue green algae, or other greens)
1 handful of spinach (trust me!)

Directions:
Toss all of the ingredients into the blender, mix until creamy and smoothie. Bless and enjoy!

Cellulite Relief Soup!

One of the best ways to detox your body from unwanted cellulite is to nourish your body with an abundance of real, whole, organic foods from the earth. This means eating lots of fruits, greens and sea weed (think sushi.)

Seaweed is an amazing healthy food which helps hydrate the skin with trace minerals and enzymes. Here's a simple and easy recipe to get your toes wet. If you're in a rush, this simple seaweed soup is better than grabbing your instant noodles. (Hey, what's that still doing in your pantry?)

Ingredients:
3 sheets roasted seaweed (purchase at the Asian market or Asian section of your health food store)
1 cup broth (vegetarian) with 1 cup water or 2 cups water w/ 1 teaspoon seasoning mix)
3 fresh cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Ground black pepper to taste

Directions:
Pour the broth mixture in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Break the seaweed sheets into pieces and add into the boiling water.
Reduce heat and cook for about 5 minutes until the seaweed expands and the soup starts to thicken. Add sesame oil.
Remove from heat. Pour the soup into your favorite bowl and sprinkle cilantro as garnish.
Serve hot

I love chocolate but I don't like the energy drain it sometimes gives me so I switched to raw chocolate years ago.  You can find raw cacao or "nibs" online or at your local health food store.

Ingredients:
2 cups pure water
3 Tbsp cacao nibs
2 1/2 Tbsp agave nectar
2 Tbsp almond butter
1/4 tsp Celtic sea salt
2 Tbsp hemp seeds

Directions:

Blend until creamy and dreamy and share with your Valentine!

When Everything Crumbles; A Tribute to Haiti

By Amanda Moxley In the wake of the Haiti earthquake, life as we know it crumbles to nothingness.  Miracles and despair happening simultaneously.  At the end of the day, who are you?  You have lost your home, your clothes, your books, jewels, shoes, treasures, clutter, food, family and all possessions.  There you are alone but alive with no place to call home but your own body and Soul.   We have to realize that this could happen to any of us at any given second.   We are not guaranteed to live tomorrow nor today.  Yet, we take the precious gift of our lives and our Souls' evolution for granted.  We put things off until tomorrow, or say "someday" we will do it.... when really our spirit is telling us to do it now.  It's time to start listening to the whispers of your soul.  If not now, when?   Who are you being today?  What are you waiting for? What are you hiding from?  Today is the only day you have, right now.  Life has started to stir up; things we thought were sound are not; the economy leaves many unemployed and worried about security and living in scarcity; mother Earth is cleansing herself of the incessant pollutants and contaminants she's endured for years; lies and deceit are being uncovered.  The spotlight is on!  Life is getting a little unpredictable and exciting.  At the end of the day, who are you?   We are going through a purification process which gives us the challenge and the gift to look within and discover who we truly are at the core.   World events like the Haiti quake are bringing us together as ONE.  Mother Earth's heart chakra has opened.  We are all interconnected.  We can all feel their pain, sadness, despair and we are asked to be compassionate, generous and loving. I think we could live every day of our lives feeling the interconnectedness between every man, woman, child and animal on the planet.  We are sharing the same air, soil, and sun.  What I think, speak and do affects you and every being around me.  I envision a world where we all rise up in LOVE for ourselves and one another.   First we have to start with the mirror. Love yourself, be good to yourself, treat yourself to real, whole, live food from the Earth, rest your body, exercise, breathe deeply, feel your emotions, be real, be true. Forgive yourself.  Forgive others. Let things go! Realize who you are and then stand firmly with your feet rooted in the ground and your arms in the air in the truth of your being.   Bless every one of us! Have you let the darkness of winter days bring you down?

If you answered yes than here are some great tips for embracing the darkest part of the year:

1. Get in rhythm with nature and tuck yourself into bed by 7 p.m. at least one night a week. Stay in bed until the sun shines again the next day.

2. Take a hot bath with Epsom salt and lavender essential oil.

3. Go sledding and pretend you are a kid again! Go fast!

4. Cozy up near a warm fire with a cup of peppermint or ginger tea with your sweety.

5. Go to the library and get a ton of good books that you would never have a chance to read during the hectic summer months.

6. Chop up onions, carrots, celery, garlic, sweet potatoes and lentils in a crock pot before you leave your house in the morning so you can come home to a healthy and nutritious meal.

7. Live in gratitude for the beauty of your life.

10 Immune Boosting Secrets

10 Insider Secrets to Preventing a Cold

By Amanda Moxley   Health is wealth.  When you suffer from poor health, it affects every aspect of your life from work productivity to overall joy.  Your health is undoubtedly your most important life asset.  Many people suffer from colds, flu, and other sicknesses several times a year.  Is this you?  If so, it's time to get healthy for life!  Here are 10 insider secrets to preventing a cold and claiming radiant health for life!   1. Drink water.  Purify your body with an abundance of filtered water every day.  I recommend enjoying at least 80 ounces per day.   2. Eat Garlic.  It contains allicin, which fights infection.  Use garlic in everyday cooking; add to stir frys, soups, and salad dressings.  At the moment you feel a cold coming on, eat raw garlic cloves.    3. Try Body Balance, a delicious blend of 9 different sea vegetables, aloe vera and black cherry juice.  Drink 2-4 ounces every day to fortify your immune system.  Sea veggies are rich in trace minerals, vitamins and phytonutrients. 4. Cook whole oats.   Get a healthy start to your day by eating oatmeal rather then processed sugary cereals and carbs.  Oatmeal contains beta-glucan, a type of fiber with antimicrobial and antioxidant capabilities to help keep your immune system super strong and your colon clean. 5. Pump up the dark green leafy vegetables such as kale, Swiss chard, rainbow chard, collard greens, mustard greens, spinach etc.  Aim to eat at least one serving of dark green veggies every day.  Doing so will supply you with an ample dose of vitamins A, C, D, and B6, dietary fiber, calcium, manganese, iron and more!  (Most of us never eat dark greens! Start eating them today!) 6. Sweet potatoes are a wonderful replacement to sugary snacks and desserts.  They're also chock full of Vitamin A which is essential to healthy skin, which in turn keeps unhealthy bacteria, viruses and other undesirables at bay.  Get at least one serving of sweet potatoes or other Vitamin A rich food in your diet every day.  Also try pumpkin, squash and carrots. 7. Always choose organic foods.  This just makes common sense!  If you want radiant health, nourish your body with foods grown without pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, fertilizers, and antibiotics.  Choose foods grown in rich, healthy soils that were grown with love and respect for the planet.  All life is interconnected! 8. Avoid sugar!  Sugar totally compromises and suppresses the immune system.  Other than providing empty calories, there is nothing good about processed white sugar!  It has ZERO nutritional benefits.  In fact, it robs your body of nutrients and minerals because the body has to use its own stores to process it. 9. Practice daily Self Care.  Allow your body to rest by going to bed earlier or sleeping later in the morning, take baths with lavender essential oil, breathe in a steam room, get a massage, or be in nature.  This will give your body time to heal, rejuvenate, and revitalize itself.  I recommend incorporating self care into your daily routine in order to balance you mind, body and Soul. 10. Where's Amanda?

I've been living and loving the Joy Diet to the max lately!   We've been cooking warm and tasty rice and lentil dishes with Indian spices, steamed greens, squash curries, homemade marinaras (which I canned this summer), tasty salads, avocados, Ezekiel Tortilla wraps, autumn apples and chocolate covered Hawaiian macadamia nuts.

My days are filled with coaching the most amazing people on the planet and creating new projects!   I totally upgraded my office space with a new sleek desk, copious amounts of  lighting, flowers, dry erase boards (for big picture creations), warmed up the room with colorful cozy throws (pink and yellows), framed two gorgeous prints from my travels and de-cluttered books, files and misc junk.  It feels so good to love my space.  Surrounding yourself with beauty is essential to clarity and success. (Stay tuned for pictures!)

Every morning and evening before bed, I spend sacred quiet time in reflection, meditation, visualization and writing in my gratitude journal.  This helps me focus on my heart's desires, dreams, visions and affirmations for the life I wish to lead.  I've been contemplating the reality that the Universe/God is more willing to give us what we desire than most of us are willing to receive.  It's a Divine dance between love and fear and faith.  I choose LOVE!
